Product Safety Testing Centre
Safety testing is about more than just maintaining compliance and limiting your liability — it’s about delivering a superior product for your customers. Whether you manufacture goods for the consumer, military, aerospace or any other market, IVD can help with this essential stage of the quality assurance process. We have been committed to delivering product testing services to some of the most demanding clieIVD worldwide.
IVD has extensive experience in testing electrical products in accordance with various safety standards including IEC/UL/EN 60950-1 for Information Technology Equipment (ITE), 61010-1 for Laboratory and Test & Measurement equipment, 60335 for Household equipment, 60065 for Audio, Video and Similar Electronic Apparatus as well as IEC 60601-1-x for Medical Equipment.
One of our biggest strengths is our ability to work with clients from the start by identifying where they intend to market their products. Once IVD has identified what safety/certification marks our client needs, IVD will prepare a test plan to satisfy the respective standards and requiremeIVD. To summarize this, IVD will save clients time and money, but most importantly, headaches and stress.
IVD has the relationships in place to offer various agencies safety marks including CSA, UL, and TUV. IVD services include United States (NRTL/OSHA), Canada (CB/SCC), Germany (GS), South America, Mexico (NOM), Australia/New Zealand, Asia JQI, JEt, Japan (PSE), Russia (GOST), and International CB Scheme Reports. IVD also offers testing against the LVD (Low Voltage Directive), MD (Machinery Directive), Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment (R&TTE) Directive or others for Self Declaration against EU countries.
In addition to testing and certification, we provide a full range of support services that help you determine specific international requirements. We can also conduct pre-testing to expedite the approval process for regulatory bodies we don’t have direct relationships with.
Different industries have different safety standards and different end user expectations. Managing these various factors requires specialized equipment and expertise. Industry- and market-specific product safety testing must take into account usability concerns, regulatory requirements and more. At IVD, our advanced safety testing capabilities allow us to meet the certification requirements of demanding industries, and tailor our testing processes to deliver the most value for our clients.
Our key product categories include:
Information Technology Equipment
Laboratory & Testing Equipment
Telecom & Telecommunications Equipment
Medical Equipment
Audio and Video Equipment
Lighting & Entertainment Equipment
Machinery Equipment
Consumer, Household, and Commercial Appliance Equipment
Component and Power Supplies
Lightning
Plastics, Laminates, Flexible Films, PCB, Coatings
To better serve clients in these and other market sectors, we maintain a network of product safety testing labs around the country. To discuss your project in detail with us, please contact the IVD .
ROHS Testing Service Centre
The EU RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) restricts the maximum allowable levels of lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardaIVD to 0.1% or 1000 ppm (except for cadmium, which is limited to 0.01% or 100 ppm) by weight of homogeneous material in electrical equipment and electronic products. In order to manufacture these products within or import into the European Union, manufacturers are responsible for providing due diligence documentation.
Since the adoption of EU RoHS, a number of other jurisdictions have, or are in the process of creating, similar Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) legislation including China RoHS, Korea RoHS, California RoHS, Taiwan RoHS, Turkey RoHS, and India RoHS.
IVD provides RoHS compliance product and material testing services through a global network of laboratories. ClieIVD can identify their preferred test location and benefit from the ability to manage the project in real-time, while ensuring that costs are kept to a minimum. Testing can include standard testing for the EU RoHS Directive, International RoHS requiremeIVD.
Our RoHS analytical laboratories are staffed with expert chemists and advanced instrumentation for RoHS related electronic component testing. IVD’s RoHS testing methods include: XRF screening, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GC-MS, GC-ECD, FTIR, UV-vis, and other RoHS testing methods.
Materials Testing Service Centre
Materials testing can and should be completed on everything fromthermoplastics to adhesives, composites to glass, thermosets to titanium and more. IVD maintains a network of professional materials testing labs around the country, where we can perform incisive analyses of rubber strength and resistance, as well as abrasion resistance, surface, fracture and plating analysis of a number of other materials.
Corrosion phenomena testing is also routinely performed using a variety of corrosive age IVD and test materials. Fatigue studies are another major component of materials testing, particularly when working with other bodies, nuclear or custom specs. IVD fatigue studies are conducted for rubber, plastics and other materials. For more information about our capabilities, contact IVD lab.
We are capable of developing a custom testing program for pre-compliance with international standards or general quality assurance. Some of thematerials testing services offered by IVD include:

Mechanical Testing Service Centre
The physical and mechanical testing of a product comprises a critical part of the product and development process. Applied physical force such as vibration, shock stresses, and strain can reveal the inelastic behavior of the material. Mechanical testing allows the product developers to understand the product better, identify vulnerabilities, and establish stronger quality control. Mechanical testing employs a variety of strength tests that can determine the suitability of a material or component for the intended application. It measures characteristics such as elasticity, tensile strength, elongation, hardness, facture toughness, impact resistance, stress fracture, and the fatigue limit.
IVD can perform mechanical testing as an independent analysis or in combination with environmental stimulation, including:
Adhesion
Bond Strength
Break Strength
Compressive Strength
Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
